State officials attend education ministers’ conference

Dimapur, June 2 (EMN): A team of officials from Nagaland led by the advisor of School Education and SCERT, KT Sukhalu, attended a two-day school education ministers’ conference in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on June 1 and 2.

The advisor was accompanied by Kevileno Angami, commissioner and secretary School Education and SCERT; Temsunaro Aier, state mission director of Samagra Shiksha; and Dr. Kevizakie Rio, joint mission director of Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.

The conference was convened by the Ministry of Education, government of India, to review and discuss the roll out and progress of New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 implementation status, state curriculum framework preparation by states, sharing of strategies for learning recovery after school reopening, foundational literacy and numeracy and Vidhaya Pravesh, skills in school, student registry and National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR).

An update from the team stated that Dharmendra Pradhan, union minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, attended the conference and addressed the participants.

It stated that the state of Gujarat made a special presentation to showcase the best practices, while the Ministry of Education, government of India, presented the status of NEP 2020 implementation in the country.

The conference was marked with intensive discussion on various critical aspects on the implementation of NEP 2020 by the states and union territories.
