A state-level workshop on the sub-theme ‘Schooling’ was conducted at Kohima’s Secretariat conference hall on August 11.
DIMAPUR — To formulate state feedback note on schooling, a state-level workshop on 3rd chief secretaries conference sub-theme ‘Schooling’ was held at the Secretariat conference hall in Kohima on August 11.
Speaking at the workshop, the commissioner and secretary of School Education and SCERT, Kevileno Angami, briefed the participants about the exercise carried out by the state as directed by the Ministry of Education, government of India.
She informed that a total of 86 officers comprising of IAS, NCS and education officers have provided feedback notes on ‘Schooling’ which were uploaded in the NITI Ayog portal, stated an update from the School Education department.
She informed that the state feedback note on ‘Schooling’ would be prepared and uploaded in the NITI Ayog portal by incorporating suggestions received from the officers. She further stated that the Ministry of Education would present the theme on ‘Schooling’ during the 3rd chief secretaries conference scheduled in the month of October/ November 2023.
R Ramakhrishnan, principal secretary and development commissioner, spoke on the importance of the exercise and urged the participants to take an active part in sharing their inputs. He expressed concern over the state of school infrastructure and suggested improving them to provide quality education to students.
It mentioned that the state-level workshop on the 3rd chief secretaries’ conference sub-theme ‘Schooling’ was focused on eight key areas.
The key areas included (1) Ease of issuance/ re-issuance/ modification of transfer certificate/ marksheet/ migration certificate in government schools, (2) Verification of certificate/ marksheets to be made easy, (3) Introduction of re-evaluation/ improvement examinations, (4) Twinning of schools for ease in the admission process, (5) Felicitation in registration of students for Aadhaar, (6) Universalisation in use of digi-locker for all educational certificates, (7) Quality infrastructure in schools, and Improving learning outcomes.
It further mentioned that the exercise was in line with the theme of the 3rd chief secretaries’ conference “Promoting ease of living through good governance and use of technology.”
