State Level Angikaar 10k Marathon held

Kohima, Nov. 27 (EMN): Angikaar Marathon-10K Run, a campaign for change and an initiative of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Housing for All of the department of Municipal Affairs was conducted on Wednesday, November 27.

The marathon was flagged off by the additional director of Municipal Affairs, S Takatuba Aier, at the IG Stadium. The marathon culminated at the PHQ junction in Kohima.

An official from Municipal Affairs department informed that the 10K run was devised to provide a platform for “fitness focussed individuals” in the state and to enable them to become role models for the public.

Altogether 43 participants took part in the marathon. The runners comprised 13 women and 30 men.

In the men’s category, Cuvoto Medeo won the first position while Thsapongki Sangtam finished in the second position.

In the women’s category, Talisenla Longkumer won the first position while Viboli finished in the second position.

Also, 73 years old Pusanyu Repreo took part in the marathon, and was felicitated for being the oldest participant while Mancha Pansa, 16-year old, was felicitated for being the youngest participant in the event.
