State cadets excel at Thal Sainik Camp

Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): Cadet Haicen of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC and  Corporal Puja Devi from 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC have won gold medals in firing competition at the Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) conducted by the North East Region (NER) Directorate NCC at Jorhat in Assam from August 16 to 25.

Teams from all eight NCC groups of North East Directorate NCC have participated at the ten-day inter-group competition of Thal Sanik Camp.

A defence release stated that Kohima Group NCC contingent comprising of 29 boys and 19 girls cadets gave a tough competition and emerged runners-up in the competition which culminated on August 25.

It stated that the boy and girl cadets have displayed remarkable performance during the competition and have brought laurels to their respective institutions and made Kohima Group NCC proud. Besides, it added that 22 cadets from the state have been selected during the competition for further training and will form part of NER Directorate NCC team which would participate in inter-directorate competition of Thal Sanik Camp to be held at New Delhi in September.

North East Region (NER) Directorate NCC conducts Thal Sanik Camp (TSC) competition every year to test the physical and mental stamina amongst NCC cadets.
