Nagaland BJP to conclude celebration of Modi’s 8 years government with ‘Tribal Mela’

Zunheboto, June 13 (EMN): The Advisor of Tourism, Art and Culture, Khehovi Yeputhomi, on Monday informed that a ‘Tribal Mela’ displaying indigenous games and cultural exhibitions will be held on June 15 in Kohima, to bring a close to the 15-daylong celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s eight years of government at the Centre.

The closing ceremony will be organised by ST Morcha Nagaland, he said while addressing a press conference in Zunheboto on Monday as part of ‘Seva, Sushasan Aur Gareeb Kalyan Parv’ that began on June 1.

The BJP legislator also informed that a bike rally will be organised in Mokokchung and Mon simultaneously in the coming days with an objective to showcase various developmental activities taken up by the Modi government.

During the rally, the BJP Karyakartas will visit Mon Medical College, EMRS Mokokchung and Astro Turf, Tuensang, as a mark of important developmental achievements under PM Modi government in the field of education, medical and sports, he said.

He also said that as part of the uplifting of the poor, the party workers will also reach out to the beneficiaries of PM’s card holders, ration cards holders, kisan cards holders, beneficiaries of free cylinders, housing for all beneficiaries etc., to create more awareness to the masses, with a vision to ensure that all needy people benefit from these flagship programmes and schemes launched and implemented under the NDA government.

The department of Health and Family Welfare, government of Nagaland, under the initiative of Minister S Pangnyu Phom, is conducting free medical camp in all the districts of Nagaland as part of Seva. The health camp will provide free medical check-up, free medicine distribution and free medical intervention to reach out to the poor and needy on the occasion of Seva, Sushasan Aur Gareeb Kalyan Parv.

The BJP Karyakartas, including those from Zunheboto are on a massive cleanliness drive of primary health centres, community health centres, sub-centres, cemeteries, place of worship, and tree plantation as a part of seva/service, it was informed. They are also said to be planning to visit orphanage homes and old aged homes across the state on alternate days.

The intention is to create public awareness, keeping in mind the spirit of service to humanity, good governance and uplift of the poor under the NDA government, he said.

Yeputhomi further urged the party workers in the district to keep a track of schemes and funds sanctioned by the central government and see to it that they are implemented at the grassroots level effectively.

Earlier, CEC member, BJP Nagaland, Hukiye Tiscca spoke to a gathering of BJP workers. Mahila President, Vihoni said the invocation; Shikuto Sema, President BJP Zunheboto district, gave welcome note; and Yekuto Zhimo, President Kisan Cell, delivered vote of thanks.
