Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): Delegation from Nagaland BJP ST morcha led by its president, Er. Cheong Konyak, and other officials have attended the national convention “BJP ST Morcha Rashtriya Maha Adhiveshan” on February 2 and 3 in Puri, Odisha.
The national president of BJP ST morcha, Ramvichar Netam, inaugurated the tribal convention which was attended by lakh of representatives from tribal communities along with the tribal leaders, MLAs and MPs from across the country.
A joint statement issued by the state BJP ST morcha’s president, Er. Cheong Konyak, and the general secretary, Therali Ezung, stated that a massive rally was organised, which was joined by tribal people to fight for their rights and the anti- tribal policy of the non BJP rule states.
It stated that Amit Shah, Ram Lal and other prominent leaders have addressed the valedictory session and assured that the ministry of tribal affairs would continue its endeavours for socio-economic development of scheduled tribes (STs) through specially tailored educational, infrastructure and livelihood schemes to fill in the critical gaps.
The statement further stated that national convention was fruitful and the party was confident that BJP government would continue at the centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the nation party president Amit Shah.
