State BJP resolves to ensure success of PDA candidates

Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) resolved to work whole-heartedly for the successes of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) consensus candidates namely Tokheho Yepthomi in the ensuing parliamentary election 2019 and Sharingain Longkumer in the ensuing by-election to 26 Aonglenden AC in order to strengthen the hands of the prime minister, Narendra Modi, at the centre and the state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio. The resolution to this effect was taken during its 8th state executive meeting cum state convention held on March 23 at Mon town hall. On the Naga political talks, the party reiterated its stand for early settlement taking all on boat for acceptable and honourable solution. The party also urged upon the Naga leaders and BJP intellectuals not to remain just the facilitators alone but to take proactive role in bringing a peaceful and permanent solution to the long overdue Naga political issue at the earliest. The state BJP general secretary, K James Vizo, stated that the house also resolved to give priority for all round development of the state and protection of people’s welfare, faith and culture. The state BJP urged upon all concerned authorities to strictly ensure that all schemes and developmental programmes are implemented and reaches all corners of the people by adapting Modi’s ideology of becoming a ‘chowkidar’ to check on corruption and developmental activities. The party also strongly condemned and denounced all acts of terrorism and appealed to all the people to support Narendra Modi for ‘peace and development.’ The state BJP president, Temjen Imna Along, declared in the meeting that Phogoboto mandal under Zunheboto district would be BJP organisational district with immediate effect in order to strengthen the party in the state. With this, the state BJP has now a total 15 political districts. National BJP general secretary and political in-charge of Northeast states, Ram Madhav, state deputy chief minister and BLP leader, Y Patton, and state BJP president, TemjenImna Along, addressed the party members in the first session. PDA consensus candidate for parliamentary election 2019, Tokheho Yepthomi, also addressed the meeting in the second session. Besides the BJP legislators, members from state executive, chairmen and OSD, frontal morchas and state cell office bearers, district presidents and general secretaries and state office bearers attended the meeting.
