Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): As part of the implementation of Nagaland Startup Policy 2019 in compliance with the Startup India Ranking Framework 2019 of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, GoI, department of Industries and Commerce organised the second phase of the Startup Nagaland boot camp in Wokha and Phek districts.
The second phase Startup Nagaland boot camp in Wokha held on August 17 at DBHSS Youth Centre, Wokha, with the participation of students from different schools and colleges and entrepreneurs in Wokha district.
The programme was chaired by Mhachan N Kikon, DIC Economic Investigator, Wokha.
In the first session, introduction of Startup Nagaland initiative and ideation workshop was conducted by Joel Phucho, Nagaland Startup Team member. Jessy Jury, Wokha DIC functional manager, made presentation on entrepreneurship development programme and schemes available under the department, while Zarenchi A Murry, vice president of Wokha District Entrepreneur Association (WDEA), delivered a motivational speech.
In the second session, participant pitched their ideas in front of the judges and the top three ideas were presented with certificate along with cash prizes. The boot camp panel of judges were K Mhathung Tsanglao, ADC Wokha, and Renpo Ezung, president of Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industries (WDCCI).
Thungchobeni T Ezung from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha, won the first prize, while Mhachan M Tungoe from Mount Tiyi College and Jenio Ezung from Mount Tiyi College won the second and third prizes respectively.
Nchumbemo Patton, general manager DIC Wokha, delivered the vote of thanks.
In a similar programme, department of Industries and Commerce organised the second phase of the Startup Nagaland boot camp at PTC Hall, Phek town.
Chaired by Temjenmeren, FM –SDIC Meluri, the introduction of the Startup Nagaland Initiative and an ideation workshop was conducted by Kuko Nuh, Nagaland Startup team member, while Chikuotho Nyusou, FM DIC Chozouba, spoke on the entrepreneurship development. A motivational talk was delivered by Chetezo Akami, PCCI general secretary, Startup Nagaland Team has stated in an update.
The boot camp panel of judges were T Lemlila Sangtam, SDO (C) Phek, and Chetezo Akami, PCCI general secretary. The event was attended by students from various colleges and entrepreneurs from Phek district.
In the closing remarks, SDO (C), Lemlila Sangtam appreciated the initiative of Startup Nagaland by the department and encouraged the participants to take up entrepreneurship seriously. She reminded that Nagaland is still at infancy when it comes to the concept of Startups.
In order to achieve positive results and outcomes, she emphasised on the need for a joint efforts of all the stakeholders in the sector.
The boot camp programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Chubamaong, DIC general manager, Chozouba.
Meanwhile, Kowe Ritse secured the first position, while Toyi Swuro secured the second position and Sapalu Venuh secured the third position.
