Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): A joint coordination meeting of the heads of offices, Bhandari and organising committees for the Naga Students Federation’s (NSF) upcoming 28th General Conference was held at the ADC’s conference hall, Bhandari on May 2. The meeting was called by Mmhonlumo Kikon, advisor of the Federation, to oversee the preparation work for the event.
The 28th General Conference of the NSF will be held at Bhandari town, Wokha from May 8 to 11th under the theme “For a just future.” The Wokha Students’ Union will host the event.
Kikon appreciated the heads of offices, students’ leaders, public leaders, and members of various committees during the coordination meeting for putting in a collective effort in hosting the upcoming conference, informed an update from DIPR. He also reminded that it is the duty of everyone to “continue to provide all possible service for the success of the historic event.”
Lotha Students’ Union president Libemo Tsopoe, Co-convenor of the conference, Jungithung Yanthan and others spoke on the status of preparation for the conference during the meeting.
“Works such as road widening, clearances and fillings, accommodation of delegates, complete electrification, uninterrupted power supply, improvement of network services, sanitation, sufficient water supply, transportation, medical and health care arrangements, security preparedness, financial mobilisation and physical infrastructures required for smooth conduct of the conference were also discussed at length,” read the update.
“Later in the day, the advisor, accompanied by ADC Bhandari, Tiameren Chang, the HoOs, student leaders and members of the committees visited the conference monolith erection site, the conference pandal (marquee) construction site and the accommodation places and had a first-hand assessment of the preparatory works in progress,” it added.
