St. Thomas Mission Society distributes relief items

Members of St. Thomas Mission Society distribute food items to the needy families in Dimapur on May 31.

Dimapur, May 31 (EMN): St. Thomas Mission Society (STMS) distributed food and other essential items to Covid-19 lockdown affected families in and around Dimapur on May 31 after the Pentecosti service.

An update from the society stated that its members along with church representative packed and distributed food to the students and needy families in Midland, Sachu colony, Landmark, Rio colony, Lingrijan and Dhobinala. It added that safety measures were strictly maintained during the relief distribution.

Meanwhile, the mission society secretary Fr. Dr. PS Varghese has expressed gratitude to all the sponsors, teachers of MGMHSS and MGOS church members for taking initiative to identify and distribute food items.

The programme was the 6th phase of society’s ‘food for security’ Covid-19 relief programme where 55 families were benefited.

The society has so far distributed food items to 455 families.  The society further planned to continue the philanthropic work in the coming weeks.
