St. Paul School Noklak gets new school building

Dimapur, March 3: The newly constructed school building of St. Paul School, Noklak was inaugurated by C. Phoniang, EAC, Noklak and dedicated by Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima on March 3.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, C. Phoniang thanked the Catholic Church for coming to the remotest places and putting its resources for the betterment of the people. “The Fathers and Sisters make lot of sacrifice in their mission and forgo their legitimate comforts of life” he said. He also urged the public leaders and people of Noklak to extend full support to fathers, teaching staff of the school. Further he advised the students to work hard and learn more.
Bishop in his address said that while the Catholic Church is committed to bring the best education and at the lowest level to the people at their door steps, including places as far as Noklak because of its commitment to God and his people. “It is the fruit of their hard work and commitment that they enjoy and hoped that the tree that produces such good fruit will be cultivated and appreciated,” Bishop added.
He also appreciated and congratulated Fr. Lukka and staff for the great work that is being carried out and particularly for the construction of the new school building.
Bishop exhorted the people to remove the tag of backward tribe because they are forward in many ways particularly in their intelligence and IQ. “Education makes them to bring out the best in them and made difference in the life, society, economic life,” he said. While requesting Nokloak people to extend support and co-operation to the institution, he said teachers are there because of their commitment and teaching is not a profession but a vocation.
He also urged the students to take advantage of the facilities provided and be a catalyst of change and progress in the society.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Ngon, president TRPO, P. Beshim, advisor to KTC, Menya and member of the school managing board. Earlier, principal and in-charge of the centre, Rev. Fr. Joseph Lukka, accorded welcome address.
School children presented variety show with songs, dance, choreography, action song and skit, while headmaster proposed the vote of thanks.
