St. Mary’s Cathedral HSS, Don Bosco HSS through to semi-final

Kohima, July 11 (EMN): St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School are through to the semi-final after winning its respective games on Thursday at the ongoing third Kohima District Inter-School Football Tournament, at IG Stadium, in Kohima.
Tepevil’s hat-trick against Mt. Carmel HSS helped St. Mary’s Cathedral HSS progress to the next round. The match ended 4-3 in favour of St. Mary’s Cathedral HSS. Tepevil became the tenth hat-trick scorer of the tournament.
The first goal came in as early as 1.50 second into the game from Tepevil. He went on to score two more goals in the second half at 44th and 51st minute. Another goal was netted by Tonwang in 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel HSS opened its account through an own goal at 19th minute, followed by a goal each from Zunio and Razouvituo at 28th and 61st minute respectively.
In the second match, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School beat Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School 2-1.
It was the scores from the boot of Khriesizo and Rüguozetuo in the 30th and 80th minute that helped Don Bosco HSS win.
The solitary goal for Ministers’ Hill Baptist HSS was scored by Toshiakum Ozukum in 68th minute.
Rato Pusa, Additional Director, Youth Resources & Sports attended the matches on Thursday as the match patron. The semi-final matches will begin on Saturday after a day rest.
