DIMAPUR — The second edition of ‘Litera Kermis’ organised by PG, department of English, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, was held on October 27 at the indoor stadium of the college on the theme ‘Enchanté’.

According to a press release, an alumni of the department, Kekhriesenuo Kiewhuo, a news reporter for HornbillTV, gave an exhortation to the gathering.

She spoke about the need to combat tribalism, drug abuse, and alcoholism in Nagaland, particularly among young people, citing examples from her own experiences. She also encouraged the students to work hard to make their dreams come true.

She described how, earlier in her life, she found it difficult to introduce herself to others and how becoming a reporter required much effort to overcome her fears.

During the competition hour, teams Gryffindor, Ariel, Phoenix Crest, and Aurora competed in events such as story telling, poetry slam, filmmaking, duets, cosplay, collage making, and essay writing, and team Aurora emerged as the overall champion.

Earlier, James H K, head of the department, emphasised the purpose of the event during his welcome speech. Parents, well-wishers, department alumni, staff, and students attended the programme.
