DIMAPUR — St. Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima, celebrated its fifth ‘Ignite Fest,’ organised by the Departments of Commerce and Management on the theme ‘Beyond boundaries,’ at SJU University premises on April 16 and the 17th.
The festival, which was organised to ignite the hidden talents and abilities of the young minds, brought together students from different institutions including Patkai Christian College, Dimapur Government College, Unity College, Corner Stone College, Tetso College, North East Christian University and ICFAI University, an update stated.
Geologist, Central Geological Service (CGS) GST, Dimapur, Ngazipmi Chalong, was the special guest of the inaugural programme.
Various activities were conducted to showcase the talent and abilities of the students, their views and ideas. The mock interview was sponsored by STEP Academy with cash price, certificate and two months employability programme on 21st century work skills with 50% discount to the two winners.
Debate on the topic ‘Inclusion of LGBTQ community in gender equality’ was sponsored by Chümoukedima district administration under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme.
The MLBB tournament was sponsored by Yuri’s Cart, Business Plan competition by YouthNet, ‘Ad Mad’ competition by INSTUDLA and singing competition sponsored by Music Academy with three months free music courses.
A panel discussion was also held with the presence of Warrin Muivah, CEO and Founder of STEP Academy, Puloketo Achumi, senior geologist of Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines, and Vilivi Sheqi Swu, entrepreneur and freelancer on the topic ‘Navigating in career of Education’ led by Dr. Monjit Roy, assistant professor at SJU.
Dr. Shailendra Tripura and Jitendra Chaudhury, MLA, also extended financial assistance towards the 5th Ignite fest, it stated.
