Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): The St. John School at Razeba celebrated Parents’ Day on Oct. 28, with the theme “Parents: streams of life and light.”

Speaking during the occasion, Deo Nukhu, advisor for Higher Education & NBHM, said that the future of the studies lies in the hands of the school, updates on Sunday informed. He was quoted as having said that “schools are the foundation builders for the future leaders.”

In this regard, the advisor emphasized that the teachers should ensure that they are not only doing well in the curricular activities but that their academic performance is good also.

“In the next 10-20 years, these people will display the education of our villages in the border, backward areas, and to make quality education grow in the backward areas, depends on the teachers,” the updates quoted him as having stated during the event. Nukhu thanked the teachers ‘who are working sincerely for the benefit of the students.’ He observed that students spend a major part of their time with teachers. However, he remarked that parents must also be responsible in ensuring that their children are able to go to school and do their home-work and studies regularly. He expressed hope that the parents and teachers would jointly take care of the students. “I hope that this school will grow from year to year and from decade to decade,” the update stated him as having added.

Students performed music and dance items during the event, it was informed.
