Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): With the primarily aim to review and discuss on issues relating to students’ academic performances and development, St. John College, Dimapur, organised a parents-teachers meet at the college premises.
Ajem from department of Chemistry spoke on the necessity of having such interactions to update the parents about the various activities of the institution which are designed to help in overall growth and skill development among the students, a press release from the college media cell stated.
Setuomenuo Ao, assistant director of St. John College, spoke about the policies implemented in the institute which focused on not only academic but holistic development of the students through a syllabus that tries to develop the skills of the students.
Prof. Dr. ST Janetius, principal of the college, highlighted on the role of parents in motivating the students to achieve personal skills through various skill development courses offered in the institute that would help students to become more self-reliant and independent after their graduation.
Dr. Anungla from department of Botany highlighted on the recent achievements of the students in academics as well as in co-curricular events. She also encouraged the parents to constantly motivate the students to achieve their goals.
Pito Aye, president of the parents association, gave a brief introduction to the organisation and suggested some few ways in order to achieve the overall growth of students.
It stated that many parents and guardians took the opportunity to enquire about the college’s policies, which explained by the management team.
Peter Banks, administrator of the college, spoke briefly on the importance of students having clear goals and aims in order to cultivate their own internal motivation.
