Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): Investiture ceremony of Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) for the academic session 2019-20 was held on April 10 with pomp and gaiety in the school premises.

The school’s press release stated that an investiture ceremony was organised in honour of 39 cadets who were inducted as school captains, house captains, vice captains and prefects for different houses.

The investiture ceremony signified reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested cadets. They were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school from the front with their commitment after a detailed deliberation from the respective houses.

During the ceremony, the school and house appointees were administered an oath wherein they have pledged to discharge their responsibilities honestly, sincerely and to their best abilities. They also promised to display dignity, integrity, discipline, and uphold leadership approach as a role model to all cadets.

Colonel Udai Bhanu, Commandant of 41 Assam Rifles, Medziphema, and the chief guest, motivated the cadets to take pride by enrolling themselves in an institution like Sainik School. He exhorted the newly appointed leaders to do their best and help the administration in taking the school to greater height.

He also expressed confidence that cadets in the school would do extremely well in any field they opt for in their lives.

Post the ceremony, the school’s principal Gp Capt. Sharad R Keskar, presented memento to the chief guest and the chief guest.

The ceremony concluded with singing of the national anthem.
