DIMAPUR — One hundred and four cadets and three staff members of Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) visited the Silver Battalion of the Assam Rifles, at Jalukie town, on an educational and motivational trip, on March 27.
The cadets were welcomed at the battalion and were briefed about the weapon system. Cadets experienced handling of infantry weapons including include pistols, rifles, machine guns, mortars and rocket launchers, a defence release said.
A tug-of-war competition was also held symbolising ‘Unity is strength’. The cadets visited the unit’s facilities, lines, hospital and school. The cadets also interacted with the officers of the battalion.
