KOHIMA — A three-day training on social audit for Samagra Shiksha Nagaland got underway at SIRD in Kohima on Wednesday.
Speaking at the introductory session, Temsunaro Aier, state mission director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, has stressed on the importance of conducting social audit as per the directive of the ministry of education, government of India. She lauded the Nagaland State Social Audit Agency (NSSAA) for accepting the task to conduct social audit for Samagra Shiksha during 2023-24.
Aier urged the social auditor to carry out the responsibility with utmost sincerity and also visit the schools to bring out actual ground reports of various interventions initiated by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, stated a press release from SSN.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]She further spoke on the need for transparency and accountability at every level to ensure that delivery of service is made to the last mile as per the objectives of the programme.
Earlier, Imlitoshi I Jamir, director of NSSAA, spoke on various aspects of social auditing and appreciated Samagra Shiksha for initiating social audit process.
On the occasion, power point presentations were made by Dr. Kevizakie Rio, joint mission director; Dr. Bijano Murry, joint mission director; Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, joint mission director; Kelhikha Kenye, deputy mission director; and Nuchyi, programme manager (accounts).
It mentioned that the social audit for Samagra Shiksha would be carried out in phase-wise manner. The team would cover 403 schools commencing from August 2023. Altogether, 52 participants are attending the programme.
