The Times of India and Twitter are jointly announcing the list of the most impactful personalities on Twitter in 2015, across different walks of life.
This is a first-of-its-kind global partnership, where world-class data crunching tools have been deployed to determine the real impact these personalities have on their followers.Usually, Twitter ranking lists are based on follower counts of the users. However, having followers is not necessarily a true reflection of the impact a personality or brand has in this powerful medium. Twitter is a live, open, conversational platform where content that’s topical and compelling goes viral. On a platform like this, the true impact of a personality/brand is measured by the number of engagements (which include retweets, likes and replies) the Twitter handle gets. A celebrity could have a massive following on Twitter owing to their popularity, but it’s not necessary that they are prolific twitteratis who keep their followers hooked-on and impressed. One important criteria is that only ‘verified’ Twitter handles are taken into consideration for this compilation.
The Times Twitter Impact List (TTIL) is the first-of-its-kind, ultimate list, which determines how much impact a personality has on their followers on an ongoing basis.
