Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): A high-level delegation from the Government of Tamil Nadu and an official from Intelnet Services conducted a three-day visit to Nagaland from July 24-27 2018 to conduct a study of the ‘State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) Nagaland’ and to emulate similar model in Tamil Nadu.
A press release received here today informed that the delegation from Tamil Nadu, visited Nagaland on the recommendation of the Ministry of Women and Child
Development GOI, and the team included ‘the joint director, deputy director, and the state project coordinator, state resource centre for women- Tamil Nadu as well as officer from Intelnet Services’.
The release disclosed that the purpose of their visit was to conduct a study of the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW)) Nagaland Chapter “for knowledge sharing in order to emulate a similar model in the state of Tamil Nadu. The team particularly studied the ‘convergence model of the SRCW with special reference to the various central government schemes being implemented by the SRCW viz. Sakhi-One Stop Centres, the Women Helpline Nagaland, and the Mahila Shakti Kendra.
The release informed that Nagaland State Social Welfare Board is the nodal agency for implementing the SRCW in the State. The Tamil Nadu officials visited the office of the Women Helpline (181) Nagaland, established in the premises of the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, and interacted with the Helpline team.
A meeting was held with officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Information Technology and Communications, and the Director of Elysium Enterprises, whose firm developed the MIS software for the WHL, the release stated.
The team also met the Nagaland Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy and concluded their tour by visiting the Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Kohima and OSC, Dimapur.
