KOHIMA — The joint director of Industries and Commerce, Lemnon Wangsha, on Friday formally inaugurated the ‘Spring Expo’ at the Old NST parking site in the state capital.

The event aims to showcase local businesses and women entrepreneurs and to foster connections with collaborators, investors and customers. Participants are showcasing innovative products and services at the two-day event.

Interacting with Eastern Mirror at the venue, Vetsilü Lohe of 'tsiviselfcare' shared that she sells various items like soap, lipstick, lip balm, sunscreen, snail mucin and deodorant. Lohe informed that over 50 researched products, with compounds sourced from Korea, are manufactured at their Kohima office and distributed nationwide and internationally.

A stall by the name of Rhozü Collection offers traditional jewelry, indigenous shawls, bags and local food items. Jokholu Khusoh, manning the stall, explained that the proprietor, Keduvelu Veswuh, a self-taught entrepreneur, started the venture before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Besides, stalls including ‘Roselle Jam’ owned by Wongdanglo Shitiri; homemade jewelry, books, bags, accessories and flowers from Gutouch; GUO’s organic tea owned by Kesangunuo Kiewhuo; and other products by entrepreneurs from across the state are put up on display.

The Spring Expo, being hosted by YouthNet Women Entrepreneurship Fellowship (YWEF) under StartUp Nagaland and supported by the department, would culminate on Saturday.
