DIMAPUR — The 3rd Annual Sports Meet of the Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima District concluded in Chümoukedima on Tuesday.
The closing ceremony was attended by Bendangchuba Ao, headmaster of Nagaland Police Central School, Chümoukedima, advisor of the All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Chümoukedima Unit; and an entrepreneur, who was the guest speaker, according to an update.
In his address, Bendangchuba encouraged the youth to uphold discipline, dedication, and perseverance through sports, highlighting the role of sports in character building and leadership development.
Bishnu Chetri, principal of North Town Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, and president of Gorkha Union Chümoukedima Town, was present as a distinguished guest. He lauded the organisers for successfully conducting the sports meet and emphasised the importance of unity, healthy competition, and youth empowerment through such events.
The programme witnessed the distribution of prizes to the winning teams and outstanding players. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and it was officially announced that the 2026 Sports Meet will be hosted by the Gorkha Youth and Students' Union, Medziphema.
