Dimapur, Nov. 2 (EMN): Kiphire district administration under the auspices of Niti Aayog’s AKAM celebrations organised a district-level school spelling bee competition on November 1 at DC’s conference hall.
A DIPR report stated that it was the first spelling bee competition organised in the district with an aim to encourage students’ learning through improvement of vocabulary and understanding of words.
The competition saw participation from 10 schools with 23 students. It stated that after three rounds of spelling challenges, four winners were announced.
The first prize was bagged by Seye from Loyola Higher Secondary School, while the second position was won by Thingrila A Sangtam of Saramati View Modern School, Tsurikhumla of Christian School, Pungro, won the third position and fourth position went to Sarah Poudel of El Beth School, Kiphire.
The DC of Kiphire, T Wati Aier, has appreciated the efforts of the students and urged them to participate in co-curricular activities, which would help in strengthening their academic performance. He also gave away prizes to the four winners.
The competition was moderated by Ane Khieya, EAC, and judged by MGN fellow Sukanya and Niti Aayog BYJU's fellow Prarthana.
