DIMAPUR — The department of Physics at Nagaland University (NU), Lumami, hosted the inaugural session of a six-day high-end workshop on the topic 'Exposure to a galaxy of spectroscopic techniques' on Wednesday, aimed at providing insights into various spectroscopic techniques.

According to a press release, the head and convenor of the Physics department, Y Sundarayya, speaking on the occasion, emphasised the significance of the workshop in fostering new ideas and advancements in the field of spectroscopy.

Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, vice chancellor of Nagaland University, also attended the event and shared his insights on the topic, emphasising its importance in contemporary scientific research.

Kanjilal, Raja Ramanna Fellow and former director of the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), Sandeep S. Ghughre, director of the University Grants Commission, Department of Atomic Energy, Consortium for Scientific Research (UGC-DAE CSR) Kolkata, and Vasudeva Siruguri, former director of UGC-DAE CSR Mumbai, shared their academic and scientific experiences on the occasion.

MS Rawat, dean of Science, addressed the programme as a special guest, underscoring the significance of such workshops in advancing scientific knowledge and fostering collaborative efforts.

The event also saw participation from eminent researchers, including Dr. Shanta Singh, Dr. Vijeth, and Dr. Biplav, along with research scholars and students.
