Rev. Dr. Daniel Chishi speaks during the special prayer session for Covid warriors in Zunheboto town on May 30.

Dimapur, May 30 (EMN): All the GBs and colony chairmen of Zunheboto town on Sunday held a special prayer session for all the Covid-19 warriors and to seek God’s intervention to end the pandemic.

An update from Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC) media supervisor, Bombo K Yeptho, stated that the prayer session was held following strict Covid SOPs and with prior permission from the district administration.

It stated that the prayer was led by Rev. Dr. Daniel Chishi, pastor of ZTSBC, SBAK-Aizuto. In his sermon, Rev. Chishi stated that everyone is going through hard times now and should cooperate with each other and work together to fight the pandemic.

Citing examples from the Bible, he encouraged all the GBs to come forward and lead their people in all aspects to remember God during this hard time, help out each other and also step forward and cooperate to fight this pandemic.

Later, a prayer was held for all the patients, frontline workers, for those who lost their lives to the deadly virus and for the well-being of everyone during this pandemic time.

It mentioned that churches in Zunheboto district have been relentlessly and tirelessly working towards helping the district task force since last year in fighting against the pandemic. The churches have assisted in providing food to the inmates of quarantine centres, setting up quarantine centres, extending financial assistance to the needy etc.

Further, Rev. Chishi has thanked the deputy commissioner and DTF chairman of Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo, for allowing the church to hold the prayer session.
