Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): A 14-day special handloom expo, organised by the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd (NHHDC) got underway at Urban Haat in Dimapur on March 24. The expo was inaugurated by Hotolu Sema, SDO Civil, Dimapur.
The handloom expo was sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, government of India.
The NHHDC managing director, Zakabo Rotokha, told journalists that the special handloom expo was to give a platform to local weavers.He informed that artisans from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland were participating in the expo. He added that 50 stalls including six from Manipur, three-four stalls from Assam and the remaining from Nagaland were put on display.
