SP Phek Dr. Pritpal Kaur urged youth to live with honesty, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle during International Youth Day celebrations in Phek, highlighting the fight against drug abuse.

DIMAPUR — International Youth Day was observed in Phek on August 12, organised by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and DISHA Phek at Phek Government College, with the Superintendent of Police Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, as the special guest.
According to a DIPR report, Dr. Kaur, speaking on the occasion, encouraged the youth to follow a healthy and prosperous life with honesty and discipline. She urged them to face failures with courage to succeed again and never indulge in bad habits like drug abuse and the use of other intoxicants.
The Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Cell of ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) organised a special programme on the occasion of International Youth Day, themed “Local youth actions for SDGs and beyond”.

According to a press release, the vice chancellor of IUN attended the event as the chief guest.
In his address, he emphasised the vital role of youth in driving local initiatives to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and highlighted the need for active engagement and participation of young people at the grassroots level.
Students from various departments participated in the programme, which aimed to create awareness and understanding of the significance of youth involvement in sustainable development efforts.
The event also featured an essay writing competition, providing a platform for students to express their creative and critical perspectives on the theme. Simultaneously, volleyball matches were organised, with participation from both boys’ and girls’ teams.
