SP Phek Dr. Pritpal Kaur launches 'Treasures of Phek Society' (ToPS) to tackle unemployment and promote local products in Phek village.

DIMAPUR — The "Treasures of Phek Society" (ToPS) was launched by the Superintendent of Police (SP), Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, at the Tourist Lodge in Phek village on January 17.
Conceptualised by Dr. Kaur, the initiative is designed to tackle unemployment while prioritising environmental conservation, women’s empowerment, and the preservation of traditional knowledge, stated an update.
During the launch, Dr. Kaur highlighted the importance of teamwork and innovation in building a peaceful and progressive society. Various trainings were also provided to the members of the society by organisations such as Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre, and Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
The ToPS product line features a diverse range of locally sourced items, including crafts made from banana fibre, straw, and wood, as well as processed local fruits and vegetables transformed into chips, juices, and candies.

The brand also highlights the region's agricultural strengths with herbal products like turmeric and ginger, alongside value-added offerings of millets and sticky rice.
Khuvoyi Vese from the Nagaland Bamboo Mission urged farmers to maintain long-term sustainable goals, while the Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) of Phek, Imnasenla, encouraged the group to maintain discipline in skill enhancement.
Highlighting the potential for growth, CMA President Zhonelu called for the ToPS model to be replicated across all villages in the district.
