SP Mokokchung issues traffic regulations

Mokokchung, April 16 (EMN): The Mokokchung superintendent of police on Saturday issued traffic regulations which would come into force from April 18 under Mokokchung town. 

As per the regulation, no heavy vehicle would be allowed entry from 7 am to 6 pm and the window period for movement of heavy vehicles through Mokokchung would be from 11 am to 12 noon (one hour slot).

For smooth flow of traffic, the SP has directed to immediately remove all construction materials and stationary vehicles lying along the National Highway. The police office has also directed all concerned to remove modified vehicle silencers with immediate effect.

One side parking zone along the National Highway are- Rotary Point (Mariani Road) to Assam Rifles Ground Mongsenbai;  Sewak junction to Marepkong Ward Junction. Public are informed to park at only one side of the road as designated.

Administration, police, para-military, Fire and Emergency Service, Medical and Power have been exempted.

The SP further warned that violation of the aforementioned order would be penalised under Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act 2019.

Meanwhile, a mass social work was organised in Mokokchung on account of the ensuing Dr. T Ao Trophy 22nd Inter-district football championship 2022 which is scheduled from April 18 to the 29.

The social work started from 7 am to 10 am with the participation of residents from all the wards and staff from different departments under Mokokchung municipality.
