Sovima campers are wooing Cong for support: Shurhozelie led NPF
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 23
The Shurhozelie led NPF has said the Noke led NPF has sought the support of the Congress to overthrow the T R Zeliang government. It said in a statement, “After losing the number game within the DAN legislature party, with only 22 MLAs now in their camp, as against 26 in T.R. Zeliang’s fold, and with the BJP MLAs having already left the Sovima camp for good, desperate efforts are being made by Sovima Camp to bolster their sagging morale.”
According to the statement, after loudly protesting that T.R.Zeliang is seeking the support of Congress party for survival, now they themselves are doing just that! Yesterday, Kaito and Kuzholuzo (Azo) approached Tokhehho Yepthomi, Leader of Congress Legislature Party and Sungit Jamir, State Congress president, to seek their support in their attempts to overthrow the government.
“This shows the duplicity and chameleon like characteristic of the Sovima camp leaders, who are now shamelessly wooing both BJP and Congress for their selfish purpose of capturing power by any means,” the statement of Shurhozelie led NPF said.
“We leave it to the people to judge the quality of their leaders, and who is right and who is wrong in this whole episode,” it added.
