South Central Railway wins All India Railway Hockey Championship

South Central Maligaon, March 14(PTI): According to the press release sent by P J Sharma chief Public relation officer, The South Central Railway, Secunderabad today won the 75 All India Railway Hockey championships 2016-17 by defeating Railway Coach Factory, Kapurthala. In the final played today, South Central Railway won the match by 4-1. Both the winners and the runner up trophy along with individual medals were given by S Chahatey Ram, General Manager, N.F.Railway who was also the Chief Guest. Rekha Jadav from the Railway Sports Promotion Board, New Delhi was also present as guest of honour.Ajit Pandey of South Central Railway was declared as the best player of the tournament. Altogether 8 teams comprising 170 players from entire Indian Railways participated in the tournament which was started on 11 March at the Maulana Md. Tayyebulla Hockey Stadium, Guwahati.
