Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): A five-day training programme in “good” sound management was held from March 18 to the 22, at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts. The training was conducted by the Music Task Force of the Youth Resources and Sports department, a press release from the Music Task Force informed on Saturday.
The topics that were addressed during the five-day training included input and the devices, processing technicalities, and output and the devices.
“Besides these, soldering of various gadgets and wires were also taken up both in theory as well as practical. The MTF provided the trainees with all the required gadgets required for the training and the refreshments free of cost,” the updates stated.
In the valedictory function, on March 22, Akumla Chuba, director of the Youth Resources and Sports department, exhorted the participants to ‘take this up professionally.’ She said that the task force and the department will create more opportunities and platforms for young people.
“Sound managers are the unsung heroes” was what she said about sound managers ‘because artists cannot become popular without them,’ and that sound managers are never really recognized or ‘acclaimed.’ The director challenged the participants to ‘carry whatever they have learned, to a higher level of excellence.’ Chuba gave away certificates to the participants.
One of the trainees, George Arche, spoke on behalf of the 35 participants who attended the training, the updates stated. He was stated to have assured that ‘they will give their best for the society with what they have learned.’
Arche requested the Music Task Force to organize more such programs in the future. He assured to surely come again if given another opportunity as he would love to learn more.
