Kohima, Oct. 27 (EMN):
Former MLA Medokul Sophie, who was one of the ticket seekers of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), on Tuesday called upon his dedicated supporters from all the villages under 14-Southern Angami-1 A/C to extend their “full support” to Medo Yhokha, the candidate of NDPP in the upcoming bye-election.

While exuding confidence on the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, to bring development and change, Sophie urged the public to vote in favour of the ruling government.

Speaking to Eastern Mirror, Sophie said a meeting was held with some senior representatives from the 14-Southern Angami-1 constituency to support the chief minister.

“The bye-election is not going to determine the government. So we feel that we should stand by the present government which is ruling the state to bring development into our constituency,” Sophie said.

Stating that the state is going through a critical juncture with many issues particularly the Naga political, delimitation and Covid-19 pandemic, Sophie said, “we felt that we decided to give a helping hand to the chief minister and the government”.
