We do not see ourselves as others see us. Are we Angamis forgetting this truth? Whether we are aware or not, others now associate Angamis with the tragic weakening of the NNC which has led to the paralysis of the Naga National body which all Nagas love and value most dearly. The perception has gained ground that, much of the chaos and bankruptcy of the present political situation is because of short-sighted miscalculations of Angamis. Are we taking this lightly? Whatever the compelling political reasons we may think we are seeing, Angamis will be doing damage to the Naga Story which will be hard to repair.
If, because of unresolved issues within our leaders, we bring destruction to inter-tribe relations and our political future, Angamis will regret the consequences of today’s recklessness.
We will be failing ourselves and our community if we continue to remain silent for personal reasons.
