Soil and Water Conservation department releases booklet
DIMAPUR — Department of Soil and Water Conservation has release its latest booklet titled ‘Soil and weather,’ which delves into the vital role of soil testing in modern agriculture and sustainability and also offers valuable insights and methods for soil testing.
An update from the department stated that the book also explores the correct methods and ways of soil collection as sampling might be the greatest source of error in the whole programmme.
Speaking at the booklet launch programme, director of the department, SK Hekshe, underscored the significance of soil testing in the context of sustainable agriculture and demystifies the complexities of soil analysis, making it accessible to professionals, researchers and enthusiast alike. He further emphasised that by incorporating weather data into soil analysis would help optimise resource use and adapt farming practices to changing climate conditions.
It informed that the booklet ‘Soil and weather’ would be available at the directorate of Soil and Water Conservation and respective district soil conservation offices. It added that interested persons could also avail the book from the department website snwc.nagaland.gov.in.
