‘Sohum Shoppe’ launches first outlet in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — A multi-brand store ‘Sohum Shoppe’ launched its first outlet in Nagaland located at Supply Colony Road, Midland, opposite to West Police Station in Dimapur on Friday.

Spread over 22,000 square feet, the one-stop shopping destination offers apparel, footwear, children’s wear, beauty and accessories, jewellery, toys and home decor. It also provides the best shopping experience with ample parking space.

‘Sohum’ is a Northeast-based chain with its headquarters in Guwahati. In order to provide employment opportunity to the local population, it has engaged a total of 120 youth from Dimapur.

The first Sohum Shoppe store was established in the year 2000. Currently, it has two stores in Guwahati and one each in Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Tezpur and Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh.

Thepfulhouvi Solo, IFS retired, inaugurated the store in the presence of its chairman, Manoharlal Jalan; managing directors Sandeep Jalan and Siddharth Jalan.

Speaking on the occasion, Solo shared that the company might find certain difficulties in its functioning saying that “in Nagaland there are many governments and therefore there will be a lot of taxes.” He, however, urged the company not to be disheartened stating that the situation would improve with the passage of time.

The managing director, Sandeep Jalan, maintained that the motto of Sohum Shoppe has always been to satisfy the needs and requirements to its customers.

Another managing director, Siddharth Jalan, commented that Sohum has become a brand for their customers spread across the region.
