Salesian College reaches out to Mother Teresa Home
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 25: To celebrate the National Social Scheme (NSS) Day in a befitting manner, the NSS Club of Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur, conducted a social work at Mother Teresa Home (MTH), River Belt Colony, Notun Bosti, Dimapur, on September 24.
While expressing her words of gratitude, Sr. Godeline, Superior of MTH, quoted the words of St. Mother Teresa saying, “I’m a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world.” She thanked the group for the gesture of love and concern and mentioned that this act of kindness will never be forgotten.
Mother Teresa would say, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Today the NSS Club has made the words of Mother come true by contributing their share of service with great love for their fellow human beings, mentioned Sr. Godeline.
Dr. Avinou Chupuo, coordinator of the NSS Club, thanked all the club members and all those who have enthusiastically came forward for the social service. On behalf of the students, she said all have learned something important for their lives by being with the inmates of the MTH and helping out in their domestic and household activities.
The NSS Club, on their own initiative, contributed some clothes items and gifts. The social work programme was carried out under the guidance of the NSS Club Coordinators, Dr. Avinou Chupuo and Miss Lomi Sema. There were 73 in all, including NSS members and some volunteers.
