Kohima, March 27 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be reviewing the Kohima Smart City project plan on March 28, after which the project is expected to take off. This was informed by the minister in charge of Municipal Affairs, Metsubo Jamir in the assembly on March 26.
Jamir was replying to a clarification sought by opposition NPF legislator Keneizhakho Nakhro who moved the cut motion to the demand for grants for 2018-19 under Municipal Administration in the state.
Stating that a good amount of fund has been released for said project but with no visible work on ground, Nakhro questioned as to how the project was to be brought about.
Jamir said he met with the department officials after recently taking over and informed the House that an amount of INR 107 cr. was allocated for the project, which is yet to be utilised.
He said the Smart City project plan will be reviewed by Chief Minister Rio on March 28 and after finalisations, the project will be implemented.
