Skill training for rural women underway in Mangkolemba
DIMAPUR — The inaugural event for the state-funded ‘Skill Training for Rural Women through the Mobile Skill Morung’ was held at the town hall in Mangkolemba, Mokokchung district, on Monday.
In his address, ADC Mangkolemba Moakumzuk Tzudir commended the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for implementing the programme in the subdivisions, a DIPR report stated.
Additionally, he urged the participants to utilise the skills they would gain to pave the way for a more prosperous future for themselves and their communities.
He further expressed that similar training initiatives would be organised in the future to harness the economic potential of the region and the state.

Imlisunep Ao, principal of ITI Mokokchung, in his address emphasised that the training programme has been specifically organised to address the unique challenges faced by rural women in the state.
He highlighted the importance of the initiative as a significant opportunity for women in rural areas to acquire new skills and improve their job prospects.
He also expressed confidence that the training would enable rural women to realise their full potential and positively impact the socio-economic development of the region.
Furthermore, the ITI principal urged participants to leverage the programme to become self-employed and achieve financial independence.
