St. Joseph University (SJU) held an inaugural of Computer Science and Engineering-cum-fresher’s induction programme for Engineering and Technology (B.Tech CSE and CE).

DIMAPUR — St. Joseph University (SJU) held an inaugural Computer Science and Engineering-cum-fresher induction programme for Engineering and Technology (B.Tech CSE and CE) at its seminar hall on August 8.

An update from the university stated that the first session began with a prayer song by Sr. Daihrii Kholia and an invocation by Rev. Sr. Chinnamal, finance controller, while the welcome address was delivered by A Prem Kumar, head of Computer Science department and followed with a special performance by the B.Tech CE and BCA students.

In the inaugural address, Dr. K Sethupathy, registrar, talked about emerging technologies taking place in dataset skills and data analytics and their contribution to the growth of the economy, education and betterment of society.

A welcome song was also performed by the BCA III-year students.

It stated that the controller of examination, Dr. S Thiyagarajan, spoke on the benefits of taking up a professional course and how those professional courses could help the world with more creativity.

Reenamol TX, head of Civil Engineering department, delivered the vote of thanks.

The second session began with a video presentation showing an overview of the university, while Dr. Kinitoli H Yeptho, dean of academics, enlightened the new students about the proceedings of academics and also highlighted the curricular and extra-curricular activities including the facilities and opportunities available in the university.

In conclusion, Prof. Charles Ezung, dean of student affairs, highlighted the life of a student at SJU, what is to be expected of a student, and also what rules and regulations to follow to avoid any disciplinary actions.
