Dimapur, Dec.13: St. Joseph Catholic Church (SJCC), Viswema is all set to celebrate 50 years of Catholic faith with its newly built majestic Church building to be dedicated on the same day on December 15. Rev.James Thoppil D.D, Bishop of Kohima will be the chief celebrant, Rev. Fr. Neisalhou Carolus, vicar general will unveil the monolith, while Rev.Fr. Arul Soosaimanickam SJ, Regional Superior, North East Jesuits will inaugurate the Church and Rev. Sr. M.Joy BS, Provincial Superior North East Province will release Jubilee Souvenir. The community members have invited all the well wishers to be a part of the occasion.
Meanwhile, SJCC also organised a reminisce programme of the old church building with Eucharist celebration on December 11. Speaking at the programme, Rev. Fr. Jerome Veigas SJ, Parish Priest, reminded the congregation of the past 31 years of service in the same building, where they were nurtured spiritually and bestowed with abundant blessings.Catechist Krovil Benedict, acknowledged the efforts of late Rev.Fr. Stanny Coelho SJ, under whose relentless efforts and benevolent patronage was the church built and dedicated for the community.
