Mokokchung, Feb. 13 (EMN): Sixteen United Brothers ‘A’ won the first Penalty Shootout 2021 after defeating Amigos in the final match at Assam Rifle ground in Mokokchung on Saturday.

The final shootout witnessed a 4-4 draw between Amigos and Sixteen United Brothers ‘A’. The decision to declare the Champion was ultimately led to sudden death round where the Amigos player missed and the Sixteen United Brothers ‘A’ converted into a goal to clinch the coveted title.

The champion pocketed a cash prize of INR 10000 along with trophy and certificates while the runner-up received cash prize of INR 5000 along with trophy and certificates.

Moatoshi Tzudir, a contractor, was the chief match patron at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, he lamented that Nagas have been gifted with good talents in the field of sports but lack behind other neighbouring states.

He observed that the reason why Nagas do not excel in sports is because “we lack dedication and do not work hard to achieve the desired goal”.

“Talent alone do not make a person successful but sheer determination, dedication, patience and will-power is needed to become a successful person,” he asserted.

In this connection, he urged the players to be sincere in whatever they do.

Altogether, 17 teams participated in the first Penalty Shootout, 2021 organised by Greaton Club.
