Six injured in separate accidents in Kohima

AT least six persons, including a woman were injured, two seriously in two separate road mishaps that took place in Kohima during the last 24 hours.
Official sources revealed in case of rash driving a speeding Maruti Alto (NL01C-5913) heading towards Mao rammed into a truck (MN04A-2534) coming from other side last night while negotiating a turn at around 7:30 pm near Jakhama, National Highway-2.The driver of the alto Pfotokho Mao broke his right arm and sustained injuries on the face and chest while the co-occupant Wilson who sustained head and other multiple injuries is under coma. Both the injured hailing from Podunamei village, Senapati district, Manipur are undergoing treatment at Bethel Hospital Kohima, after being rushed by commuters on the highway.
Three other occupants of the car were released from hospital after being treated with first aid, sources added.
Meanwhile, the truck driver and handyman fled site and were untraceable till the time of filing this report today.
In another incident, a pregnant woman identified as Kezeveinuo was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding Gypsy at Kitsubozou junction at around 5:00 pm yesterday evening. She was rushed to Oking Hospital while the driver of the gypsy identified as Davis Zhimomi had been taken under police custody.
Sources said after medical examination and treatment the condition of the woman today is reportedly stable while the child in her womb is also safe.
