Six fresh Covid cases detected in Nagaland

Nagaland recorded six new Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the state’s tally to 12189.

This was informed by the minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom.

‘Six positive cases of Covid-19 were detected today (Sunday) from Kohima. Also, nine positive patients have recovered from Kohima,’ tweeted the minister.

According to the information provided by the Health department, the state has 73 active Covid-19 cases out of which71 asymptomatic, one mild and one moderate on oxygen. The state has also recorded 11877 recoveries and 88 deaths out of which10 death is ‘not Covid related’.

In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Kohima leads with 60 cases, followed by Dimapur-13 while Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Kiphire, Phek, Tuensang, Zunheboto, Longleng and Wokha have zero cases.

123 vaccinated with second dose

The second dose of the Covid vaccine was administered to 123 healthcare workers at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima and District Hospital, Tuensang on Sunday. There was 96% turnout in both the hospitals, led by senior doctors and nurses.

According to the report from the state immunisation officer (UIP) Dr. Ritu Thurr, 11601 doses of the vaccine have been administered till date — first dose- 11, 478 and second dose-123.
