Situation of Zeliangrong people not same with other Naga tribes— ZCOs

Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) on Monday stated that it was required for leaders of civil society to know the progress and details of the Naga political dialogue from the negotiating groups.

It said that many Zeliangrong brothers were “enrolled in almost all the Naga political groups i.e NSCN(IM), NSCN, NSCN (NK), NSCN, NNC, FGN etc apart from ZUF which are engaged in political negotiation with the Govt. of India.”

Adding that  Zeliangrong community was one of the stakeholders of the Naga political issue,  therefore there was ‘no reservation or hesitation to sit across the table with any political groups in a free and fair manner who are engaged in political negotiation with the Govt. of India’.

“The situation of Zeliangrong people is not same with the other Naga tribes because Zeliangrong people are not concentrated in specific areas nor confined in a single Sub Division, District or State but lives in different areas, sub divisions, districts or states where different laws of the respective states are being administered upon. What is applicable in Manipur State is not practicable in Nagaland and Assam or vice versa,” it read.

Attending any consultative meeting convened by any political groups to know the details and progress of the political negotiation between the Govt of India and the Naga political negotiating groups should not be construed or misconceived as “anti Naga nor anti India”, it said.

“It is high time to think for collective future because Naga people political solution is for all Nagas where no single Naga can differentiate or discriminate against another,” it added.
