Ambrose. J. Chakre

Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy mixed with fear-m hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. ~ Jude 22-23

The one act of sin resulted in the downfall of man. Sin has not only corrupted our world but it has also destroyed the innocence of our children. God created men and women to be in a relationship with him but Adam and eve created their own doom and ours by their acts of disobedience. The moment they sinned they became aware of their nakedness and realized that they were seeing something which they had never seen before. After their act of disobedience, fear began to creep into their lives because they became conscious of sin. When they began to see each other naked, they began to realize that their shame were different in nature but for the same purpose.

Gradually they began to lust for each other and the children they bore sinned more than them. The result of the downfall was that lot’s daughters slept with him to preserve their generations and the generations that became sinful as they were. This syndrome of wickedness had been passed on from generations to generations. The sinners of the old were the sinners of the past and the sinners of the new are the sinners of the present and the vicious cycle of sin will continue as long as sinners exist. In wickedness men and women lived and sadly many had died with the sin in them.

The very reason Christ died was that we can be reconciled with God and knowing that we are saved by grace we will be committing a big blunder if we fail to teach the truths of God’s Word to the sinners. Just as Christ died to save sinners, we are also expected to teach people about it. If we do our part diligently, the Holy Spirit will gradually transform lives and impact the masses through the power of God. Our God is a God of love and compassion but He is also a God of judgment and power. The term ‘sins of the Saints often refers to the saints who cares only for themselves and prays for themselves. Since the world is now headed for destruction, and if we fail to love the sinners our loved ones may also be taken away from us. The Lord rebukes the saints who are caught up in their own world of self-righteousness and holiness. The believers who are now secured in salvation gained life through the sacrifice of One. And if they fail to testify about God’s love to the people, they shall ultimately be judged for their sins of negligence. Such believers may ultimately be saved by grace but they may suffer loss as far as their eternal rewards are concerned.

Thus the Lord speaks this against such people, “You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not bought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals (Ezekiel 34:4-5). The simple interpretation of this is that many of our saints will be accountable for the damnation of the lost souls. Truth is we fail to love because we have not the Spirit in us. I urge all the saints to think about this and mend their ways before the Day of Judgment comes. Time will not wait for you but God is still waiting for us.

Let not these sins destroy you and your relationship with God. We are called to love just as we are loved by the Father. Show mercy to those who doubt. Every sinner can be saved if you never give up on them. Hate the sin in them and start praying for them with groaning and moaning and the Holy Spirit will start convicting the sinners of their sins. The Church of Christ urges all the saints and believers to fervently serve the Lord with all their heart. If we judge ourselves now we will not come under judgment (1st Corinthians 11:31). This is a letter to the saints.
