Singer tunes into words with book

Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN):
The singer of a local rock band in Nagaland, Abiogenesis, has released a book. A press release from the band on Sun. informed that Arenla Subong, the group’s vocalist, had released a book in Odisha.

The book, ‘Wings Of Passion,’ was released by Dr. SC Jamir, governor of Odisha, at the inaugural function of the 3rd Odisha Art and Literature Festival on Feb. 1 in Bhubaneshwar.

The book is a compilation of Subong’s four plays ‘Lichaba’s daughter,’ ‘Sojourn of the Ahom Prince In Naga Hills,’ ‘Big Time Buddies’ and ‘Adapting to Change,’ the press release informed.

The book has been published by Heritage Publishing. It is priced INR 300 and will be available at select book stalls and online stores after the book’s launching ceremony in Dimapur, the press release informed.

In the evening, Arenla and Moa of Abiogenesis entertained the gathering, the press release stated.

The Odisha Art & Literature Festival is said to be an endeavour to create a space for Odia as well as “Indian and international thinkers, poets, writers, artistes, painters, musicologists, translators, lyricists, singers, playwrights, stage directors, cine artists and social scientists for deliberations through panel discussions, interviews, readings, and performances.”

The event hosts writers and artistes of all genres from Odisha, India, and beyond ‘to create a sanguine atmosphere for cultural dissemination,’ the updates stated.
