Silver Cup: Kohima Hornbills, Royal Torniquets and Valour CC registers win

Kohima, March 27 (EMN): Kohima Hornbills, Royal Torniquets and Valour CC won their respective league matches during the 9th edition of Silver Cup T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Youth Department of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima at the Jakhama local ground on Tue. March 27 Kohima Hornbills defeated Midland Brotherhoods by 79 runs in the first match. Kohima Hornbills electing to bat first set a target of 178 runs in 17 overs with Moni contributing 51 runs. Midland bowlers Rainü claimed three wickets while Poalenlal and Sashi took two wickets each. Midland Brotherhoods fell short of just one run to reach the century mark with Chochom contributing 22 runs. Kohima Hornbills bowlers Moa and Dito claimed three wickets each. Moni was declared the man of the match for scoring 51 runs in 24 balls. Playing the second match, Royal Torniquets defeated Kingz CC by two wickets. Kingz CC won the toss and elected to bat first set a mere target of 86 runs. Nipu scored 33 runs for Kingz CC. Chasing, Royal Torniquets achieved the target with Angshuman scoring 29 runs. Kingz CC bowler Aso claimed five wickets. Man of the match went to Angshuman for scoring 29 runs. In the last match of the day, Valour CC won against Silver White’s by nine wickets. Electing to bat first, Silver White's scored just 57 runs with Tesah scoring 14 runs, which was easily achieved by Valour CC losing only one wicket.
