Kohima, April 3 (EMN): Esa Warriors and Diphu XI will clash in the final of the ongoing 9th edition of Silver Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament on Wednesday at Jakhama Local Ground from 10AM onwards.
The Silver Cup is an annual event of the Youth Department of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima on the theme “Peace and unity through Cricket”.
Out of the 16 teams in the road to the final, Esa Warriors defeated Komates by 178 runs in the inaugural match. They won against SilverBacks by 52 runs in the quarter finals and in semi-final Esa Warriors knocked Valour Cricket Club by 84 runs.
On the other hand, Diphu XI on their road to the final got a walk over in the round of 16 as Shillong Mavericks failed to turn up. They defeated Royal Tourniquets by 5 wickets in quarter finals and over came Kohima Hornbills also by 5 wickets in the semi-finals.
The final match between the two strong contenders will be graced by MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro as the chief guest and also hand over the prizes to the winners.
The champion of the tournament will receive cash award of INR. 80,000 with citation and trophy and runners-up INR. 40,000 with citation and trophy. Other individuals awards are highest run getter, highest wicket taker and best wicket keeper.
